You show an old skeleton type key.

The Magician thread the key onto the cord. Ask the spectators to hold both ends of the cord. With your hands underneath the handkerchief explain that there is no way that the key can possibly be removed from the cord without letting go of the ends. Only the Magician Magically can do it!!! This is a very strong trick. You can also use a finger ring. You ask the spectator to try and place the ring onto the key which they are unable to do. You then place the key and ring briefly behind your back. Or you can use handkerchief .Then you bring your hand out and show the ring is magically on the key! .

You can use any cover like a hanky, napkin, behind your back, etc. to get the ring on and off the key.
