The magician shows a solid steel ring and shoelace which he hands out to different spectators to be examined.

The magician then explains that if asked, a spectator would thread the ring onto the lace in a simple way as he/she demonstates. "However as magicians we like to make sure that you know its really on there" he/she says as the performer clearly and slowly threads the ring onto the lace. The spectators can see the ring swinging on the  centre of the lace right before the magicain impossibly pulls the ring through the centre of the lace!

This is repeated again and then done in the spectators hand!

As a finale the magician proceeds to get the ring back onto the lace without going anywhere near the ends of the lace!
